I thought I’d dig this old thread up as I have come across an almighty rip off concerning Teka spares being supplied by Connect :eeek: :eeek:

As you may or may not know, Teka and Kuppersbusch are part of the same company, I needed to phone them today for a price on a Kuppersbusch cooker part, while I was on, out of curiosity I asked about some Teka fridge hinges that I asked Connect to price earlier today that seemed a tad OTT at £35 odd to me each

It turns out that Teka, should a member of the public phone them for exactly the same part they would be charged a mere £8.58 each inc VAT

If you need Teka parts, go direct, their number is 01253 8619163 😉

I have to say well done to Masterpart of late. My monthly spend on parts runs at about £800,And up until recently it was £600 to Connect and a couple of hundred to MP. This month MP gets over £500 worth of my business and Connect get £150 😆 If I can blow Connect out completely I Will, apart from there pricing structure they have the most annoying habit of sending my parcels out by royal Mail when my account explicitly states Carrier only and they still charge me the full carriage charge. Rant Over, I hope my Connect rep reads this and gets in touch to discuss the matter.

i think i should be dealing with masterpart anyone have their number,
sorry if its gasps of amazement i used to put all my business through washvac, recently using qualtex.
i am reluctant to change but it can be the difference between getting a job and loosing a job if the price is not right.

I love an honest answer. 😉

To be fair Connect probably have a standard markup matrix type thing and don’t look at individual prices, hence the weird pricing. I’m only playing Devil’s Advocate as there’s usually two sides to every story.

That doesn’t however excuse errors not being corrected promptly when they are pointed out.

I think a lot of problems may have more to do with the latter somehow. At the same time I’m not saying that Connect are cheap or whiter than white, I’m only trying to understand the reasons for some of the weird crazy prices as common sense would dictate that they were either in error by a standardised pricing structure or they have a total muppet pricing thing manually.

Question?….how often do you see them accidentally underpicing stuff like, oh, say a Zanussi fridge power board for £1.29? 😆

Mind you I did order from a certain major supplier (that supplies plumbers in centres) ten pipe clips, got charged for ten at 22p each but was delivered ten boxes of 100!
I’m now very popular with my plumber friend 😉
