    Thanks penguin45

    Get your drift clearly.
Been around a long time and will not take unnecessary risks lifting heavy items. Been in the Broadcast industry for many years setting up and building studios but with plenty of corporate money to spend on very expensive lifting gear and equipment.
I was looking for an item that would be practical and not cost a fortune for the one man band. Yes I can sit in my chair with an open cheque book and blow a grand no problem on equipment or go out and purchase a nice new van with a tail lift but unfortunately I don’t have the money.
With so many service engineers having to get equipment into their vans I had hoped somebody could put me in the right direction for a practical lifting device that would raise a 90 kg weight to aprox 20inches high safely. The Draper jack was for looking at and deciding what weight would be practical for lifting in and out of the van then used for taking apart my 25 year old BMW motorbike
I have been looking at different items that are around to use and modify if possible for safe lifting. When servicing my van everything is chocked up plus axle stands and no way would I rely on a hydraulic jack.

Back damage was mainly due to heavy ski-ing over the years not lifting washing machines, having worked in many dangerous environments I am only to aware of what can and does go wrong.
