    I had the same problem on an almost identical model – water fill starts and stops repeatedly before draining and the red light flashing.
    It was the reed switch on the side tank. Easy to fix but 30 quid for the Miele part.
    I have seen the exact same fault on other machines of the same model series owned by customers and it is always the Reed switch at fault. Good luck.

    Hi, hope you don’t mind me hijacking the thread, but you seem to know your way around this model (G1022). Mine will trip out the circuit breaker about a minute after being started. I assumed it was the heater element, replaced it, which didn’t cure the fault (the resistance was the same as the original). The machine appeared dry inside with no obvious leak, is it likely to be the capacitor? I wondered if it was the pump starting up causing the circuit to trip out.
    Or any thing else I can investigate? Many thanks, Steve

    probably the pressure switch on the motor
    have had that do that

    I gave up and bought a new machine.
