Dave.
I already took the door off and checked the wires going to the power switch, but I haven’t tested the switch itself. I guess I can check this with my multi-meter. But is the control PCB something I can get to easily? (i.e. without taking the machine out).
Maybe it’s time to get the engineer out? Does anybody know of a good engineer in the Guildford/Farnham area (GU10)?
Also I’m not sure what to expect from this machine. I’ve no idea how old it is or how much it cost as it was in the kitchen when we moved in last year. Is it going to be worth attempting a fix?

The on/off door microswitch is a likely suspect then as well as the actual on/off/start switch. The module (located top right of the control panel) however is less likely to be at fault (though cannot be ruled out) as they are pretty robust on this model.
What is the ‘FD’ number shown on your machine though I wonder?
Certainly worth fixing though and I’m not sure we have anyone listed in GU land but try this link :-

Would I be right though in thinking that the door microswitch wouldn’t cause the indicator lights to go out? So perhaps I can rule this out.

I’ll check when I get home tonight.

Repairs@Nobody listed under GU10 I’m afraid.

Very true, smart thinking…but the On/off switch would!

Tel: 01483 764851Thanks, I’ll give him a try after I’ve checked the on/off switch. No time tonight – but I have just run another cycle – usual problem, only this time the machine is not hot at the point it has cut out (I think it has just done a cold rinse?) So maybe it’s not heat related after all.
Oh, and the FD number is 7809 (then there’s a gap followed by 440042).
