ParticipantWell I guess we all had the letter (or have seen it) on Saturday from Mr Fisher.
I’m surprised I got it though as we have not worked for NESN since the end of August. I did not get the letter from JT as mentioned in RF’s letter though, apparently not much in it anyway.
Surely if Connect follow up all the letters sent, and ask anyone to work directly for them on the c/plan contract this would start the old crap about contracts again, the same as the threats over the MFI work after parting company, especially for those who have recently resigned etc. Or have Connect got an ace up their sleeve ?
Any views ?
Dave.

ParticipantWhat if you phone David Parker & fire this question across his bows.
“I’m interested in the possibility of renewing my association with the C/Plan contract. As you know I’ve terminated with NESN and that leaves me with a contractual issue. If we can be of any help, then you know where we are. Will there be a problem regards the NESN terms & conditions?”
I think it is encouraging that Connect is writing to ex NESN agents. Mind you that doesn’t take away the fact the work is crap and carries a poor profit margin.
We are now into interesting times. This proves the value of this forum, I’m sure we have helped this come about.

Not for publication out of the waroom
Connect want everyone signed up as direct as over the next three months the amount owing to agents thro NESN WILL DIMINISH TO VERY MANAGABLE LEVELS.There is NO answer on the question of what then ….suffice to say that connect can give three months notice any time they want.
This has come from the very top of connect and you must not repeat to any one as I have had conversations with the top two people that dave parker does not know about.take the oppertunity to go direct keep your head down reduce the indebtedness of NESN to you and be grateful you are a member of the warrroom and privy to the info that I put in my letter THAT THE WORK WILL NOT REMAIN WITH NESN
best regards
GO WITH THE FLOW

Connect have an ace you don’t need to know….just phone connect and get the visit…don’t phone NESN….deal direct with Connect they want nationwide response and have Network-Dasa intheir back pocket for where there are gaps.
This is why SOS hates my guts, and why he goes personnel,he’s a tosser in a fancy german cart!
regards

ParticipantWhat would be fantastic is if we could ensure that the persons who have been in league with NESN get bugger all out of this.
I don’t need to name names, I would rather they didn’t profit out of our efforts. I wold love to see them fall by the wayside.
I might even consider doing some C/Plan work at the end of all this. (I say might)

No one is in for an easy ride out of this…….Connect will be pressed hard by coverplan for good results and will inturn expect a good job done by their agents.
In short there will be nowhere to hide for all of us and we will have to perform to retain the work.If we perform and that means everyone there is other work in the pipeline from coverplan(no specifics at the mo)

At a recent E/Lux meeting the subject was raised regards Connect being in the repairers market place. The person who chaired this was very concerned regards the potential of Connect and actually saw them as a threat.
Make of that what you wish, but it tells me the likes of D.I.S. L.G.H. and maybe a few others who are disillusioned with their present service partners are looking around. On the strength of that I feel it may be prudent to keep a bit of a rapport with Connect.

KeymasterI’m not going to fall out with Connect or turn them away carte blanche either as they’ve done nothing to piss me off.
Yet. 😉
My issue is (as I have said over and over) DSG as they are a shower of first order bastards who would stab you in the back as quick as look at you unless they want something. For now they want something and that’s all that’s holding them in check. If they thought they could punt the work to another network (if they could find one 😕 ) they would do it in a heartbeat, I’ve seen them do it three times already and I’ve been burned once in the shuffles.
>From the top of GDA, as it was before Merloni fecked it up, they reckon that they were royally shafted by them, no surprises there. They lost shitloads of money.
Service Force was shafted by them, again no surprises. They lost shitloads of money.
The independents were shafted by them, that one was a surprise. We all lost shitloads of money.
See a pattern emerging here? 😉
It’s just the way they operate and, if you are prepared to live with that then it’s fine, if not steer clear is my advice. But you never know, maybe they have learned along the ways.

Nor piss me off, they are very professional, just a shame they are in bed with that DSG shower.
My thoughts are to play along, see what’s on offer and see what the future may hold. C/Plan was only 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my operation before it went to GDA so it is no loss. DGS are a shit outfit to the highest order, I will not dispute that & I would not trust them.
Anybody like Ken who was shafted by R.F. & his cronies will know what I mean. We were left high & dry when he passed it all to GDA & I’m convinced that DSG lead to the early demise of Frank Carey and ultimately Philco.
As regards, learned along the ways, no chance. Some of us have long memories and I will make it quite clear if approached by David Parker. I reiterate I won’t throw him out the building but I will make it clear that we owe DSG no favours. I don’t want to go back to a string of same day service calls arriving on the fax as late as 11a.m. sometimes for call in the Middle of Exmoor.
October 31, 2003 at 12:39 pm #105926Flipper
ParticipantIf anyone wants sameday service they will have to pay a premium. That premium in my humble opinion shoud be at least £65.00 + vat. This is to cover the cost of of cancelling other jobs already booked, to make up for the low 1st time hit rate and to pay for keeping engineers light.

According to rumour, the way you work you’re engineers they are unlikely to put on any weight anyway 😉

KeymasterWell it looks as if NESN are in their death throes at the moment unless the browngoods side does keep them afloat for now.
The bell is tolling for our Jonathan anyway I hear.
My heart bleeds 😈

Perhaps we should send a wreath with condolences or do you think it might be a tad insensitive. 😉

Well it’s been on the cards for many months now and to be quite honest, unless they are seen to do something very drastic, ie sack JT and any other of the oppressive twats they have lurking about, get themselves out in the open and start to make real changes, I very much doubt that even the brown goods side will survive.
It’s just a shame that so many of the members and NESN staff have been victims of the little games that those in power at Stoke have been playing.
We have seen what was once the largest independant network in the UK reduced to scraping around for small, low volume, short time deals in a little over 12 months. Never again will any network try and screw it’s members like NESN did, and rightly so !!
Those that opress will be opressed IMO.
I’ll post this in the NESN forum in time, when JT’s/NESN’s future is confirmed, I assume the “vote of no confidence” is, at present just rumour ?
Dave.

KeymasterHeh, I sent him a Christmas card, to him personally and no, I’m not kidding! 😆
Thus far it is unconfirmed on the vote, but the info was from a sound source, we’ll just have to wait and see what transpires.
