It’s only really a very absorbent sponge. It will hold its own volume of water… About half a litre.
It’s great for spills and for sucking out the last bit from a dishwasher or emptying a flooded base.
good for cleaning the car too!

We’re not supposed to leave any waste with a customer, even down to the paper towel stuff we use. Everything is taken away, old parts are sent back for disposal, waste is picked up by an outside company.

I’m not selling them myself, or on any commission but anyone wanting to try a pack of 5 can get them at £14.99 +vat + post to any UK address = £20.20.

The mop ups are a good idea and work very well. I have been using them for about a year now great when the filter is blocked and you have to remove the hose etc put 2 down and they normally soak up most of the water then use another to clean up. The other good bit is I do not have to pay for them. 😀

In theory, no engineer should have to pay for them as they should be charged to the customer as any other part used is. You would have to be careful not to over do it, or use them unnecessarily but you could easily stick a few pounds onto the bill for any used to at least cover the costs if not make a few bob profit.
My customers pay for everything, WD40, sealant, grease etc. these should be no different.

I’m intrigued Andy, 😉
What is the going rate for a squirt of WD40?
How do you calculate it, have you taken a full can then counted a timed squirt to see how many you can get from a specific size of can, then divided the cost of the full can by the number of squirts? :rotl:

I usually added 10 bob as sundries. That way I made a profit on every sundry item instead of it being a hidden cost to me. Why would you pay for all the sundry stuff you use yourself?
Might not sound much but how much do we spend a year on grease, wd40, insulation tape, electrical connectors, emery cloth etc. ?

ParticipantI use a large syringe type of tool I got in my local motor factors. Its steel and made by Sealy tools. It is very handy for draining dishwasher sumps and flood trays. Draper also sell them.
