Goatboy
ParticipantI’ve noticed a strange pattern when it comes to sales a new machines, especially washers. It’s happened three times this week already. I’ll just describe the first one to you. π
A few years ago, a customer rings for a repair. We get there and it’s a 3 year old Candy with the module blown up. The customer hates the machine and doesn’t want to spend much money fixing it. Fair enough; so we tell them about the lovely Bosch washer we sell. ‘It’s alot more robust than this one.’ The customer says ‘OK, I’ll have a think about it’.
18 months later, the same customer calls us out to their 18 month old Hoover washer. The motor has burnt out! The customer hates the machine and doesn’t want to spend much money fixing it. Fair enough; so we tell them about the lovely Bosch washer we sell. ‘It’s alot more robust than this one.’ The customer says ‘Oh yeah, I remember’ and this time buys a washer off us straight away.
It happens all the time. The customer seems to have two bad expierences with cheap c##p, bought from the sheds, before they will listen to our advice.
Weird eh? Be patient and the sales will come. π

Actually reading back through that, maybe the customers don’t trust my face. π
ps. and when Hoovers are kaputt, we always tell the customers about Hoover’s 5 year parts guarantee.

Thanks for helping my self-esteem guys!
I think BSH-man uses his powers of evil, to sense when someone types the word ‘Bosch’ into this forum. He always there like a flash.

I popped out for an hour after I posted that last message.
I come back and the post is full of head-slappingly bad jokes. Slap! There’s another, slap! π
I think this needs moving to off-topic.
ps. There’s only one Goatboy. My bro is pretty normal! Actually, to start up some disscusion, he wants out of Merloni because all he does all day is fix other engineers mistakes. Merloni seem to hired anyone, no matter how useless! He’s too talented a problem-solver to be wasted on them.

OK, go in and find the “Hotpoint advertise for engineers” thread, rumour mill I think.
That’s where the story starts, they were desperate for engineers as they had huge coverage issues, according to Merloni they no longer do, so what does that tell you given that there is a national shortage of white goods engineers generally…. π
And it’s getting worse, but, we are working on a solution π
