Will do Martin, I haven’t checked it for a few weeks, I might remove their adverts as don’t make much on it and they keep putting competitors on them !!!

    This is just disgusting.

It seems that it is not enough to rip us off on the DSG work but now there is potential for us to get ripped off on the stupid fixed price stuff as well none of which I have a contract or technical support to service. If repaircare want to take on work for everything then they should ensure that the proper support is in place in order to do it and not expect the engineers to insure them against loss, they took on the work and accepted the call, they took the payment so it is their responsibility to take the flak when it goes wrong.

With the lies and the way we have been treated so far though it is hardly a surprise that this has happened.

It is outrageous and if we get one of these debit notes we will resign with immediate effect and cease all calls.

Ditto, and I shall close down every job on the system as well as my purchase account, which is a lot of money every month.

Bad enough getting debit notes when one of their customers slopes off out for the day, and we charge Repaircare for the wasted visit THEY booked. Every time we get a debit note we threaten to raise a C.C.J. against the customer. If they can treat us in such an underhand manner, then so can we with their customers.

Unless you’re being lined up to get the bullet of course as you’ve spoken out about it, dunno, don’t work for them, I can only judge on the info I have.

But if you do get the bullet in the next few months at least you’ll know why

I agree. I’ve been thinking a lot about this comment today.

Maybe I have angered someone in RC Management with comments over the rate cut? But at the end of the day, what I do is provide a fu**ing good service to Repaircare, so if they want to terminate me over comments… So be it. I’ll see them again at some point as I have another 33 years (Godwilling) left in this trade, be it as a company, just me & a van or in any other capacity!

Those that ‘Know’ me from meetings etc, know that if you’d cut my arm with a knife previously, it would have bled Repaircare. Acts and behaviour like this, kill bonds, reputations & loyalties.

    Adrian.

I have never worked for RC although it was considered a number of years back. For me contract work is useful to a point in so much that if you have a healthy customer base of trading work then a bit of extra contract work is icing on the cake. For any business where contract work has become a large percentage of all work you are at the mercy of the provider and personally its not a situation I would entertain, control of your own workflow and business is essential in my view and when I read stories like this it reminds me why I don’t need the likes of RC. It like Connects affiliate sales, they use it as a tool to increase you sales, however once that customer clicks that link they become a connect customer and connect have all their contact details which in my book is like giving your customers away !!!

I wish you luck with this 🙂

It’s always the worry when you start to speak out, you get the bullet as a reward for your “efforts”. You won’t usually get answers or a resolution to go with it though.

Same thing happened to me with NESN, they didn’t like what I had to say, couldn’t get me with any legal action and so, they terminated me without notice, breaking their own contract and never paid a lump of cash. They have also never apologised or compensated me for it either, hence I won’t work for them again. If they can do it once….

My issue has repeatedly been with this and the fact that the repairers do operate in a culture of fear and intimidation, not one where we’re all trying to work together at all, even although it is billed as such.

All you can do now is wait and see what happens next Ade but, reading “that other thread” and then this one, I wouldn’t be confident of a solution that you’re going to like.

This is totally out of order, what gives RC the right to basically fine you for something you haven t done 👿
What happen to being presumed innocent until proved guilty or does this not apply.

We have all made mistakes, misdiagnosed or not been able to complete a repair for one reason or another but to compensate a customer because of this is wrong.

If this can happy to Adrian because he spoken out, said something that upset someone then I guess it wont be long before the rest of us are shot down one at a time, who’s going to be next. ❓

It must be a adminastrative error RC wouldn’t treat their most loyal repairers like this 😯
I suggest that RC do the honorable thing and apologise for their mistake and credit Adrian back without delay.
