The icing up problem is back within a week – changing the back panel in the fridge didn’t fix it. Will be calling Comet again.

During the various visits, I noticed that the engineers tested the defrost sensors and the heater and said it was OK. They seem to just do a continuity test with a meter. If they are thermocouple type then I would think they deteriarate gradually so a meter test will not show a problem until the unit fails completely ? How do these sensors work ?

ParticipantProblem can be due to evap sensor out calibration, evap heater/themal fuse o/c.Sometimes the plenhiem becomes porous absorbing water and causing ice build uparound the fan.

hi all i have worked on tonnes of these and the problem is only cured by replacing the fridge evap cover. the insulation soaks up water and then starts icing up jamming fan etc samsung also recomend changing defrost term sensor (yellow wires) at the same time but there is definetley a modified back panel available hope this helps. 😆

Hi, can anyone tell me how long this problem has been known. We have just started having the problems everyone is talking about (ie., noisy fan, display flashing, no water etc – what will happen next?) Our machine is now just out of warranty! 🙁
