Thanks! Where can I get a new one? I couldn’t find it in the uk whitegoods store. Searching the internet, I come up with a lot of similar inverter PCBs, but none has the same product code used in my application. The marking on my inverter PCB says “DA41-00288A Ver. 1.5”

I probed the inverter output using an oscilloscope. What you see in the attachment is the voltage at the U and V pins of the inverter PCB, measured at the connnector towards the compressor. U W and V W look the same. I put the application in forced operation (FF1).

Shouldn’t the signals be phase shifted? It looks to me like something shorted out and and some kind of line voltage is applied to the compressor, because the signals I’m gettig are 50 Hz, 320V Peak-to-Peak and in phase. But it’s hard to tell what exactly without a schematic, any ideas?

Re: Samsung RSH1 Side-by-Side Compressor not running

I just installed a new inverter PCB, but I’m still getting the same error signaled by the LED: “SPM Fault”. I’m running out of ideas, is there anything else I could try?

I checked the signal “comp” on the connector from the main PCB to the inverter PCB, it’s 5V, 50:50 duty cycle, 400Hz. From what I read, that’s what it’s supposed to be.

Matt.s please give me a solution for your problem. I have the same and I just changed sub-inveter PCB with any success. If You solve your problem please give me any information. I’m just crazy!

Bit late but might help another if finding this thread.

Everything pointed to the Inverter board as measured 320 – 88 volts DC on 2 outputs and 187 – 67 on the third…consistently(without motor connected). Bought new board and compressor just to be sure…..

New Inverter didn’t fix it. New compressor did.

My comment…. Samsung warranty not worth the paper they are printed on. 10 year compressor, yes, but by the time you pay someone to fit a new compressor, and still end up with a 6 year old fridge you have been better to buy a new one instead of waiting for the other “timed” components to fail. But then if manufacturers built good to last 20 years, they would all go out of business.

Samsung warranty covers parts only, irrespective of how shiny the warranty stickers are.

Re: Samsung RSH1 Side-by-Side Compressor not running

Sorry for the late response, just found this thread again. In the end I gave up and sold the fridge as malfunctioning, someone picked it up for the spare parts. Pretty sure the fault was the compressor though…
