Why not make your own bio diesel from the waste cooking oil then there is no need to modify the vehicle.

There are a few pieces of kit out there to do the job such as this one http://tinyurl.com/669d53g .

I considered doing it myself but I can’t source enough cheap or free cooking oil as there are companies locally who do the conversion on a large scale 😥

    Re: SAVE ON FUEL ?

Is the state of play in this white goods game such that we have to resort to these measures just to save on fuel costs?

To go to the expense and inconvenience of fitting all these gadgets under the bonnet and fuel tanks strapped to the roof rack?

To risk bu$$ering up your engine or DPF?

Spend days trolling Fish & Chip Shops around town for the raw materials?

Don’t you realise that the modern diesel van power unit was never designed to run on this gloopy gunk?

How many miles do you get before the fuel injectors soot up and die?

Won’t Chip Shops get wise to this and ramp up their prices?

Will you not need to possess an official ‘Waste Carriers Licence’ to be accountable for its correct disposal?

Where do you dispose of the filtered out fish scales and batter?

    …..so many questions

P.S I bet if you’re into brewing your own beer with a genuine Boots Home Brew Kit you’ve gotta go with the idea of this bio fuel as well….stands to reason…innit? 😈

    Re: SAVE ON FUEL ?

Only just read all this……Certainly interseting but not sure if I should risk it on my very well pampered trafic with 152k on the clock. However I would love to know what everyone is getting MPG? My 1.9 trafic is averaging around 36

My Astra 1.7 Turbo diesel averages 56mpg (local driving) but with all this hot weather right now and with the AC running full blast I only get about 45mpg (‘ish) 🙁
