This years engineer meeting / social will be at the following hotel on the 25th September 2015 :

It is a 4* hotel and has a fantastic indian restaurant within the hotel as well as a new restaurant opening in the next 8 weeks.
Booking is by phoning the hotel direct and quoting ” WHITEGOODS TRADE ASSOCIATION “

It pays to book early, If something crops up you can always cancel the booking.
I have never had to cancel but the option is there if an emergency cropped up.
It is better than not being able to get a room and be disappointed.

Yes there are the normal regulars turning up to ensure the bar doesn’t fall down on the Thursday night. :beer: :beer:
And yes.. I know it’s unusual but you do speak to a real person and not recorded messages 😛

All the details for the September meeting are on the top of the page.
September is where it’s the engineers only who get together and discuss what is happening in the trade ect. It is very informal compared to the main February meeting which is where the ( suits ) manufacturer rep’s and spares suppliers attend.

Generally. That was the original intent and purpose of the September meeting that largely remains in force but, it’s not like a law or something. 😉
There have often been company representatives that attend who have an interest in service and seeing their agents etc, some at many of these ones. And, that has never been an issue, just about anyone is welcome there, I hope that still is and remains the case.
Completely correct that it’s a lot more informal and more of a “freeform” sort of meeting, much more social if you will, that often is allowed to steer it’s own course by the people attending. That sounds a bit chaotic when put like that but, it really isn’t at all.

Jolly good. Looking forward to it and the Indian restaurant in particular. I trust you checked that one can have three helpings of dessert there, if one happened to be so inclined….

I gotta say, when I saw the photos of the venue i was, will we say, a bit reticent or reserved about it.
Having been there and seen the facilities my opinion was altered.
The food was excellent.
Rooms as good or better than the Hilton.
Meeting room is different but we all feel that it’ll work for us and make it better. There’s a lot more character to it for sure and, not in a bad way.
So all in all it seems better even if the location is a bit weird as to all intents is seems as if your in the middle of a housing estate. I think that’s as it appears to be an old country house that backs onto a park but don’t think you’re in the wrong place when satnav takes you into the burbs.
Oh and, it’s cheaper as well!
