I had a very similar experience to funkyboogy where the customer insisted that i put on the overshoes he gave me cos he didnt want his new b&q laminate floor dirty’d by my size 11s. Made several trips to the van via the gravel drive, ripped them to bits in the process & he still demanded them back when i finished.

I tell ’em health and safety. If the customer insists, then I tell em to get the carpet taken up and to phone for a new appointment when it’s been done, that usually brings about a change of heart, if they complain to customer service, they’ll get another mouthful of abuse from our wonderful advisors at Peterborough.
