Participantfasetester, you have asked a lot of questions here, I will try my best to answer.
The solenoid is fed directly from the PCB, the PCB may not show signs of damage, normally it does not, if a component is failing or has failed you most probably would not be able to tell, unless you know how to read one of those tester thingies that puts the signal on the screen, this is then really high tech end stuff. There are those who enjoy bringing out all their gadgets and gizmoes for that sort of thing. The answer is, the PCB should be replaced.
Next, the pressure switch, water can easily enter to pressure chamber and create problems. If you are so inclined, then remove the pressure switch and strip down, you would soon see if any water has entered the chamber, also check the contacts for burn marks where they make contact. I don’t bother with all that fuss, I replace, that way I know it will function as it should.
As far as I am aware at this present time, the solenoid on the soap dispenser cannot be replaced without damage to the support unit for the solenoid, thus, the whole unit is to be replaced. However, I have never had cause to replace the soap dispenser in this model.I have said earlier this model has known issues with the PCB and pressure switch. If the solenoid does not open on the any wash, this is not going to be a cheap repair for your customer.
It is one of those jobs if you have not come across it before you feel damned if you do and damned if you don’t, I have felt like that many times when I have received advice. The best thing you can do is advise your customer of the potential cost even if you are not successful, if they say OK regardless, then have that in righting from them so they cannot back track.Dave

Participantfasetester, Replace the PCB, it is the only way. Even P45 has said the pcb. Advise your customer of the potential cost, if they say yes then you are in profit with a happy customer.

Part number for PCB on previous page. I have had mixed experiences with QER, especially with BSH and SMEG boards. They hold no stock and will only try and repair your board. 50/50 shot, I’d say.

ParticipantI have found delivery time 7-10 days, no real problem from Servevast. I think they give discount to non SMEG agents.
PRESSURE SWITCH part number is 816210325I do not have any PCB boards repaired, I have new ones, that way any failure within a year it gets replaced FOC, I make sure they give a years GT on parts whom ever I purchase from.

thanks guys if the person goes for the repair the pcb does not need any setting up. and does it come in the white case i would say that the board should be handled as little as possible. fasetester.

ParticipantYes comes in white cover, make sure you place all the wires in the correct terminals (silly to suggest I know but best to be sure). When fitted set to glass program, when full the machine goes into wash about a minute later the sop disp opens (providing you closed it before testing), about five minutes after that open door and make sure the flap has opened and the water feels warm, then write out your invoice and get paid, lovely jubly.
