Yeah.. All those good parts gone to waste..
Notwithstanding that, the guy should be prosecuted.. what he has in that drum are fluorescent tubes.. hazardous waste… not supposed to smash them. The contents are a carcinogen.

Allowing for a sunstantial amount of failure by a significant number of brain cells prior to this “effort” !

Didn’t realise Indesit exported to Australia! He was pushing his luck putting his snout so close to a motor running at full bore with no load 😯 If a com segment flew off I’m not sure his perspex protection would be quite enough 😕
Must have been nothing on telly :rolls:

Actually a pretty good tribute to the strength of these UK produced Hotpoint cabinets and tubs. The damper arms seem to be the weakest point. I doubt the current foreign produced Hotpoint machines would have stood up long in this test, not to mention the “exploding” Hoovers and Indesits reported elsewhere.

Most students use them until they look like that instead of ringing the landlord to say it’s a bit noisy when the bearings go!

Obviously more than just the interlock that had been bypassed there! Not quite sure how it was done as the drum began to build up speed as though it was module controlled yet carried on going long after front panel had gone and I could not see a power module at all.

The mains wire went straight to the motor -amazing the belt didnt come off until the end.Something quite satisfying watching this, some other makes deserve this treatment.

I think some of the cabinet screws had been removed to hasten the collapse, especially the front panel ones.
Not much chance of work in a Circus in these times so I suppose a Clown has to fill his time in somehow!February 9, 2012 at 9:16 pm #368434leavemetogetonwithit

At 4:51 he adjusts something sitting up to his right which knocks down the motor speed. I think it must be a variac. So that’s how it was done. Concrete weights had been removed from tub and looks like the base of the cabinet was nailed to the pallet. Not sure whether the eco-ball had been left in or not 😛 .
