ParticipantI’ve tried this before in the trade spares forum but it never really got off the ground, so I’m gonna restrict my offer to subscribers only on this.
Top ten biggest spares tunover, what are they ? What would you like special prices on ? How many etc etc ?
I’ll do all the work with negotiatons etc and the logistics (Martin can vouch that I can deliver the spares with no problems ;)) but I need some idea of what we all use, obviously I know what I use most of but it does tend to have regional differences.
So, let me know, and let’s restrict it to 10 only for now to simplify things and let’s see what we can do eh ?
I know mostly the spares cost is passed on to the customer, but if we can buy at a lower price and still charge the customer the same, we can all make a bit more from this.

KeymasterThem damn twist-fit pumps!
Fan elements, Ariston, Candy etc.
Askoll pumps, a perinnial favourite 😉
That’s about all I can think of off the top of my head. 😕

Nedis eh ?
I can order from them for the benfit of subscribers if required, as I said in the trade spares forum the order has to be substantial.
The account has been open for some weeks now, all I need is some idea what everyone needs/wants.
I’ll check on the Servis modules and motors though, could you let me have the common part numbers please Kev ?
All other common parts they do, along with a lot of the German branded stuff as Martin mentioned.

In addition to those above (and this has nothing to do with Masterpart), is anyone interested in some askoll pumps at £3 a go ?
No brackets, just 3 screw fixing askolls ?
Let me know if you want any.
Dave.

This what inspired the ‘pumps’ poll in trade spares.
The boss refuses to use Askoll pumps, because one (new) set on fire and nearly killed a customer. Not to mention the insurance aftermath.
So now, we only buy Plaset.
I’m interested Dave, but we only buy in small quanties. 🙁
And I reckon those prices might be out of date now. 😆

As do the majority of Independants GB 😉
Give me a list of part numbers/quantities to work on and I’ll see what I can come up with for you 🙂

ParticipantRe: Subscribers spares deals
I’m going to revive this nearly year old thread even though it’s not a “deals” offer but read on please……. 😉
Some of you may or may not know but I currently work from home in what was once a spare bedroom after having spent over 20 years in a partnership running a repair and spares business, eventually I got fed up being held back in my endevours (family bussinesses ) and left the partnership to work for UKW full time as a director and handle the spares side as well as admin etc which I was already doing but not on a full time basis. Anyway, that’s a brief history…….
I will soon be relocating to a dedicated unit (not an institutional one ) where I will be carrying on the same as well as handling the ISE spares distribution etc. Not surpringly I suppose, some of the main wholesalers I mentioned this to in my day to day dealings with them have an interest knowing that we (UKW) reach so many trade guys which got me thinking, so, my initial questions are…..
Would you guys buy from UKW if we were to take a distribution deal from any of the wholesalers ?
Would a trade spares website that you can buy from linked directly from UKW be of interest ?
If you did buy from UKW, what would you like done that the wholesalers can’t do/offer you ?
Any replies or comments will be of interest please as this is a cursory feel about on the subject 🙂
Cheers.
Dave.

I like the idea of buying from the above. Might not be as easy for me because all my stock movements & orders are linked to whatever programme/agency we are dealing with. Therfore due to logistics I prefer to keep it that way, otherwise there is double keying. I do however by in bulk on special offers every now and then.

Sorry Dave I don’t think it will work, as you have seen by the amount of subscribers very few are interested in anything bar their own selve’s.
The chance of them bulk buying is negligible with next day delivery it was different a few years ago when the vans came round once a fortnight.
I had a job lot of Servis modules and was selling new at half the price of EMW recons, sold about 20, had been trying to sell in boxes of 20 didn’t sell one box and they were all current ones.
I have always bought bulk but it doesn’t pay now.

ParticipantRe: Subscribers spares deals
My most recent post wasn’t really about bulk buying to be honest, it was a general question about UKW selling spares to the trade.
I can easily offer next day delivery for daily orders if required 🙂
I’ll pass on the modules thanks 😉
Dave.
