ParticipantHi all,
I have been using an old Vista laptop for this but it crashed so a factory reset and install but after trying most of the weekend on both this and my new Windows7 laptop it keeps saying ” a file missing” and I must have tried it seven or eight times on each. I even tried to do the 2006 version in desperation all to no avail.
I used it quite a bit so will miss it and my question is….has anyone got a copy on one of those pen drive USB thingys or any sure fire way of getting the disc to load. (I had this a couple of years ago and then one time it just loaded) I know it is the older version so installing it with XP.
Thing is on the old laptop it’s a couple of hours and finding it doesn’t work is a real bummer. 😥
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Do you have the access runtime installed?
Can you give us a screen shot of the error or any other information?
Is Microsoft Access Installed on the PC?
When is it crashing?I will start with those questions and go from there based on your answer.

Jem, where do I start?
Don’t know what access runtime or MS accees are.
It doesn’t crash, just won’t run when loaded and the screenshot, no but will tell you the error when I restart the old’un but it takes about 20 mins to get going so will do that tomorrow.
Funny thing is it loaded about 2 years ago without those things unless they come annonymously with MS updates.
Will post the error code in the morning.
Thanks for answering.June 18, 2012 at 10:54 pm #376756stratfordgirl

Remember to install Adobe Reader first if not already installed. (old version on the TDS disc or later version from Adobe website)

Yes Adobe installed.
The message comes up.

I have it working on windows 7 (Professional 64 bit) so I know that it can be done.
Microsoft Access is a database program and is what is being used in the back end of the software.
This sounds like an issue with adobe reader:
Can you successfully open PDF files on the PC?
Try going to “C:Program Files (x86)ElectroluxTDS Offlinediagrams” and choose a couple of different sub folders to go into and then the next sub folders and try to open a couple of random PDFs to see if it will or not – this should tell us whether it is an adobe problem or TDS problem (Note: if you are running a 32 bit windows then it will be “Program Files” not “Program Files (x86)”).The one other thing that it might need though I am not yet sure is the microsoft dot net framework (not sure which version it would be but would guess 1 or 2).

have no probs with xp or 7 works treat
i use the iso file of the disk and run it using Daemon Tools Lite ( from file hippo ) ( creates virtual cd drive )
that enables me to run the disk on 4 systems at the same time also since all files are on the hard drive access is very fast

i have the issue 1 2009 version and it runs fine on windows 7, just make sure that all the service packs are updated and install it and the pdf files in a seperate directory on the hard drive, dont use the default directory. then if you still have problems (i dont), run the programme in one of the older compatability modes.

I’ve got in running on a Win 7 laptop, seem to remember having to make it run as XP in the options.. Would really be useful if it could run in Android though
