ok, so the 7 oclock position of dial and 3 pushes of the gentle enters factory test mode:-
So sequence
Push Gentle 3 times then Start button push = Test all lights / displays (push start to advance)
5:01 displayed, Sensor / Dry / End / Anticrease led’s on = testing sensors? (push start to advance)
5:02 displayed, Drying led = cw rotation drum, power to single element Max temp above heater 114°C Max temp Exhaust 66°C, element cut out circa exhaust probe temp 60°C cut in circa 40°C. (push start to advance)
5:03 displayed, Drying / End led’s on = ccw drum rotation, power to both elements, didn’t want to overheat so pushed start button to advance when temp hit 280°C. (push start to advance)
5:04 displayed, Sensing led on = ? no movement or sounds. (push start to advance)
F:06 displayed (ERROR?). (push start to advance)
Machine powers off.So i guess need to know what F06 means and how this is related to putting on the door filter light?
Cheers

F06
Heating element NTC error detected6th Sense and Drying lights lit or flashing
Check wiring to heating element NTC
Check heating element NTC
Clean any fluff or lint from the sensor and surroundingsThis is from the error section on the site, however not exactly no sixth senser or drying lights only the door filter light……so would suggest the heater NTC? Although checked already but don’t have specs to compare against…….

So you’ve two choices then…
The heater needs replaced as, the stat or thermistor come with it, you can’t get it separately.
Or, the PCB is fried.
Either way, £100 or more.

OK thanks. Seems like this will remain a project or go to the great scrap yard in the sky. What a sad state our system has come to when we potentially scrap a unit for the cost of a 50p part (manufactured cost of NTC). So so wasteful.

not only wasteful but if you count the CO2 in having to remake the appliance and the CO2 of recycling the unit its should be a crime

You’ll struggle to find anyone here that would disagree with that sentiment.
If you can get the numbers off the stat/s I’ll see what I can find as there may be a way.

well at the beginning of the thread you did a test on the thermistor and the reading are pretty close so I cant see why you got this error. Did you check the wiring continuity between the thermistor and the pcb ?

Sorry to ask this but u have defo checked that your condensor unit is clean with no lint blocking it?!
Other than that the NTC values you found online are the exact ones quoated in the tech manual for this dryer.
The test program susjeted by johnny will work for this dryer, 7 o clock posistion, or MIX program going by the manual.
This is also a reset you can try
Within 10 sec the following sequence must be followed:
-selector 6 o clock posistion
-push “start” button 3 times
-turn selector 1 posistion clockwise
-push “start” button 3 timesThis will reset the dryer after a safety failure.
In past experiance iv found if it was an NTC failure it would show up as an F05 or F06 error code. -
