It’s when they offer the cuppa just as you are walking out the door.
If offered one whilst I was working on the appliance, I used to leave it until it was at a drinkable temperature. Before you know it, “Oh that must be getting cold!” Mug snatched away and “Nuked” in the M/Wave for 2 mins.

Booked a call to to fit a intergrated WD told the lady it could take a least a hour, when I got there the old lady sat me down made me a cup of earl grey and she had been out to the local shop & bought me a strawberry cream sponge cake for £3.50.
We both enjoyed a slice, and as I finished the job she gave me the rest of the cake & a can of cider !!Can’t wait to go back there !! might book the next call in on a Sunday to see if I can get a full Roast Diner !! Ha ha !!

I had the full roast dinner after repairing a machine on a farm in Glossop more than 30 years ago whilst still at Hotpoint. 🙂
I actually worked full time on different farms in my youth so we had plenty in common to talk about.

In the hot summer of ninety one I think it was…..my brother and I delivered a new wahing machine to a country house.
Customer not only offered us a cold drink but also a dip in the outdoor pool! we both declined, but then looked at one another & thought “What the heck”
In we both went! Customers daughter served us iced drinks on a silver tray……….I NEVER forgot that customer and although I now live miles away I could still remember the house location.
