    Re: thermostat connections

well as far as I can see we have 2 poss 3 problems

1 completely faulty stat that’s way out of calibration
or the sensor tube is not positioned correctly (or both)

2 the lamp wire is just on the wrong side of the stat terminals

    1.
The sensor tube did not seem to have a particular position. I simply pushed it behind the… (not sure what it’s called – large metal cold plate on the back interior of the fridge). That’s where I pulled the original one from.

    2.
Might moving the light switch off brown/stat 6 to Black/stat 4 sort the light?

The sensor tube should be attached to the evaporator it should have a clip or slot behind the evaporator to attach it.

If it is not attached to the evaporator the tube / thermostat will not get cold enough to turn the fridge off.

OK – so need to unscrew evaporator (that’s the large plate at the back?) & fibnd clip(s)?

    Will try tomorrow.

Why don’t posts on this forum have a ‘thanks’ button? ‘Cos you guys are really helpful!

Take care not to put too much stress on the pipe work when you pull the evaporator forward as if you damage the evaporator or pipe work you will loose the refrigerant then the cost to repair would be beyond economical repair.

If you move it forward carefully it should not cause a problem.

Final post to say thanks again.

Finally seems to do what it’s supposed to do!
