Thanks Iadom. Have ordered the parts. I believe I’ll manage it.

Parts arrived VERY FAST. Thanks. Fitted them during the last two days (had family commitments last week).
Stripping down and rebuilding machine all went well, slow but no problems at all.
Thanks for diagnosis to change bearing Iadom. Old bearing had completely worn through and the shaft was half eaten too from rubbing on the galv steel. So glad to have new components fitted.
Looking forward to dry clothes again, real soon, except… now it’s reassembled the belt is loose 😕 (there’s half-an-inch of play) 😯 And there’s no way to adjust the pulley position…. 😕
Drum, motor, etc are all in correct position. What gives? Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Ah, we did warn you this was not an easy job. 😉
You have not routed the belt correctly. The flat ( back ) of the belt has to run on the pulley. Looking from the side the belt comes down and around the motor shaft and then over the top of the pulley.
You will need severe brute force to pull the belt over the jockey pulley. Some people put the belt round the drum with the drum to the side of the machine and then roll the drum into place. Loosening the jockey pulley bolts slightly is another way. The official way is to loosen the motor mounting bolts and the use mole grips to force the motor round to fit the belt over the jockey pulley., all in all a dreadful piece of design. :rolls:
Good luck. 🙂

Directions much appreciated.
Will carefully apply some “strong brute force” to line up holes for mounting the motor.
:rolls: You know I had routed it that way originally but when the holes were so far off I thought “naw… they’d never…” so changed the belt to around the other way. 🙂

It is good to know that you already fixed the problem with your INDESIT ISL70C Dryer. It saves a lot to learn Do-it-yourself troubleshooting instead of calling maintenance services. Poor men of the house, we are always expected to fix this and that while they just worry on using it.
