There’s two threads to this and I’ve been meaning to do it for years but, never gotten around to it and to be honest, was worried it’d upset some people.

I’ve got over both those issues. 😉

So in order to demonstrate to clients (commercial and domestic) the sort of “stuff” that service engineers need to deal with on a daily basis and to show customers what total muppets they can be I give you, the user fails articles…

    Washing Machines: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … g-machines

    Cooking: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … user-fails

    Dishwashing: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … ishwashers

    Refrigeration: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … rigeration

    Drying: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … ble-dryers

If you’ve got any please share them as some of them are brilliant, some disgusting and many just downright amusing.

I want to demonstrate the life of a service engineer is… mhm… interesting!

Thanks for the pics I’ve had so far some of them have been epic and a lot funny.

Keep sending them though, they’re a brilliant laugh and show just what a sh– job being a service engineer is at times.

    Re: User Fails

Just got a new phone and it’s messed all my photos up, but pulled a few I could find.

This one was the cooker tripping the electrics and smelt of burning. No wonder, it was like this inside and out.

This one was adamant they check the filter regularly.

Electric hob tripping electrics after another company had changed a solid plate, turned out they left something behind.

Housing association customer, hadn’t used machine in 1.5 years all the while it sat filled with dirty water and he didn’t understand why refused to touch it on the grounds of it being a health hazard.

Or the customer who “left a key under the plant pot” where there were something like 32 of them spread about in the garden.

    Re: User Fails

Side by side, fridge was literally a foot thick with ice, the fan cable was stretched and nearly snapping. The customer thought I would have “a spray that could sort it quickly”.

    Superb, those are brilliant.

You have to wonder about the sanity of some people though don’t you?

We ‘unsung heroes’ one and all believe each customer potentially insane and work backwards from there. More often as not the vast majority really do have an appliance problem and no need for a referral to a local shrink. 😉

Went to install a new dishwasher at a customers address. He had been using his old machine for over 6 months with this door catch!! He only got a new appliance because his wife was sick of the dishwasher sticking out from under the counter!!

This gentlemans son was a builder who fortunately was able sort the leak out for him that was pouring from under the kitchen cupboard.
