I dont carry a laptop or pda just me and my mobile, a lot of people think that a laptop makes you look more proffetional but in my experaince customer are just happy with a good job done at a good price this will always go further than all the flash toys availible.
i do own a laptop and pc but very rarly look at diagrams etc for fault code i carry paperwork i might just be old fashioned but there you go.

    Hi Tony,
I carry a laptop with me for work. Not to look professional but to locate part numbers, prices etc. It has been invaluable over the past twelve months and well worth the financial outlay. In addition, my Tom Tom beats constant browsing of the A to Z. I dont have a problem with these items being stolen….. I take ‘Buster’ the family pet with me during the day and after all, who would take a chance of breaking into the cab with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier sat in the passenger seat!
The only down side is his occasional venting on route that leaves me gasping for oxygen & throwing up in the nearest lay-by…

Hi and thanks for the replys on this post.
Spinfast, my wife was just glancing over my shoulder when she read your reply and said that you sound like a clone of me :rolls:
I have not yet started taking my laptop but I too often take Buster with me, and yes he is a Staffie 😀
This is an interesting development for the future that may help.

I dont think it is yet what I am looking for but you can see the way things are going and I think it is being aimed at “mobile proffesionals”

    Regards
    Toni
