KeymasterThere’s a thread somewhere about this pup, it’s been a while since it was discussed though. Basically I can get vans and cars a bit cheaper and often with preferential finance.
If you do a search you should find it, but it might be in the subscribers section, I can’t remember now. 😕

Got a Peugot Boxer with Bank of Scotland finance last year.
They matched 😕 a quote I had on a Relay that I’d had from somwhere else, and as as the wife is a boxer dog fan 😯 (dont ask 😳 ) I went with it.Van itself is ok but when it arrived it is the most basic spec of any van I’ve driven. It’s not even got speakers in it never mind a radio. Your’e knackered asking directions from the van, no electric windows. You even get out to adjust the mirrors and I’ve not had to do that for years.
More fool me. 🙄Next time (three years) I’ll buy!!!!

Gotta be the Volkswagen Transporter, i’ve only driven a few of them, my two brothers have them, they are so well put together with. Transits, that i’ve always had are a lot lighter & very tinny in comparison, my brother is a joiner & floored my van & sheeted it with ply, when he done this on the transporter he broke several drill bits, goes to show that the steel used in Germany is not paper thin as used in UK.

I have a vito 112 with lots of toys icluding sat nav/climate control/traction and an auto gearbox, no probs at all with it and over 36,000 miles out of the front tyres
Expensive to purchase but reflected in the resale value, so good value over time.

So the rumours that Kevin drives around in a converted Citroen 2CV ‘Dolly’ are untrue after all eh? :clown:

Spotted at Sibson last time (but who’s is it then???)

Stick with the renault version if you want trouble free motoring – the renault mechanics should know more about them!
I drive the vauxhall vivaro version, great van but very badly let down by vauxhall mechanics – one openly admitted to me that he didn’t really know what he was doing with it, hence the fact that in the last 7 months its spent 6 weeks off the road. Everytime it has gone to a vauxhall dealer it spends at least a week off the road while they order parts for it, then because theyve diagnosed it wrong it takes another week etc.
It’s now on injection pump no.3 and I’ve just had it sent to an independant garage because the van started to rattle & vibrate badly, they found the wrong bolts had been used to secure the fuel pump and was virtually hanging off, this after i found the bolts missing from the radiator.

Yes I know Kevin, as this must be devine retribution for my cheek or something about my last posting on the subject, but my van engine blew up today (Con Rod or Piston went clang…black smoke…dead stop!)
The countrys 4th Emergency service got to me in 25 minutes and towed me to my local Vauxhall dealer. Within one hour of breaking down the men in white coats at the garage were peering into the engine compartment, rubbing their chins in unison and tut tutting 🙁
“We might be able to fix it or it might need a new engine?..Its only done 98,000, still never mind eh!…probably have a look at it on Monday or Tuesday maybe. That’s a bit of bad luck for you isn’t it sir?…is someone going to pick you up or would you like us to take you home?”
Must dash…got to dig the push-bike out the shed now and pump the tyres up. 3 calls postponed today and re-booked for tomorrow provided I can make up a bracket to sit my toolbox on the handlebars………..!

On my last visit to the vauxhall garage i came out from reception to find 2 blokes in vauxhall outfits nosing around the van. When I asked WTF they were doing one of them said “we’ve got one of these coming in for accident damage repairs, we just wandered what it was supposed to look like”.
Bad luck Martin, not a Vivaro is it?

Vivaro???…That’s a bl**dy guitar or an Ice Cream isn’t it?
I used to cruise the highways in a more traditionally well established machine (’til it went belly up today that is)…namely an S reg 1.7TD ASTRA!!!

Would have done Dave had I had more time to plan this better, instead I am going to hire one of these for a week next Monday …
