Hi, I’m looking to buy a bearing press (to fit them squarely) for both hotpoint machines and a general press for other makes……..I can’t find where to buy them from and UK whitegoods have suggested putting the question to the forum.
    Any ideas
    Thanks

UKWG’s actually supply these, may only be trade only, not sure. If you are in the trade then I would suggest you apply for trade access ASAP. 😉

Sadly, they are the first people I contacted and they do not supply the bearing press tool, only the bearing extractor tool, but thanks anyway.

    Re: Washing machine bearing press

Well there is always, overpriced ESpares’
Bearing toolkit 😯 hotpoint part number for that is 5600130.

Thats just for WM bearings, for the WMA machines you would also need the 5600172.

You might find them on Fleabay cheaper.

    Moved to trade tech.

Fasboy now has trade access, welcome to the forums.

By bearing press, I assume that you want this to put the bearings back in rather than extract them, yes?

Is it specific for Hotpoint or do you want it to do other stuff as well?

    Re: Washing machine bearing press

That Hotpoint kit is designed to both extract and refit bearings, its better at pulling them back in than extracting them though.

I got mine from Qualtex about ten years ago for less than half the Hotpoint price at the time. Not sure if they still do one though.

    Re: Washing machine bearing press

In answer to kwatt, yes, it’s to press the bearings in squarely. I’ve just started up in the trade so need a selection of machine bearing presses. I just missed a hotpoint press on e-bay a few months ago, and have had no success finding a press for zanussi etc at all.

I currently have the loan of these presses and was quote £500 to replicate just the zanussi press.

    Thanks

Looks like mine from Qualtex but where are the extracting parts for the main bearing Martin?

By eck Martin, thats the old original that preceded the large Red Box doofers more than twenty years ago.

I think I still have some bits of one of those old kits lying around in the garage.

The large round tube was supposed to be used for extracting the old bearings, useless if the bearings had collapsed.

    Re: Washing machine bearing press

Piccy on eBay sorted now……brilliant piece of kit, does what it says in the spec AND more importantly, far far cheaper than the 5600130 official kit runs at in todays stupid prices. A bl**dy bargain and no mistake. 😀 I won’t turn down any reasonable off-line offers either by the way. 😉
