ParticipantHi,
Can someone provide me with the error codes for the above washing machine. I currently have the door lock LED and Rinse LED indicating a fault. Any ideas?
Cheers

Assuming that it is an Indesit ( you didn’t say) you need to give us the position/number of the Rinse led, from left to right is it number 3?
If it is light 3 then the fault code is F02, main motor or wiring faulty, may be worn motor carbon brushes.
Could also be bad motor connections or even faulty main pcb.

Correct it is the Indesit IWME126 integrated washing machine.
the LED that is showing in number 4 (rinse icon).
If you could shed any light that would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I thought four should be spin, how many lights does it have?
Better still, just tell us by number from left which light is flashing, ignore the door lock light.

I have attached a picture of the error lights I’m getting. According to the manual the green LED is the rinse symbol.

Always best to give them by number, the functions can differ on certain machines but the error codes are the same.
Sadly light four flashing is F01, motor triac short circuit.
Mainly a faulty main pcb or motor. 😥

Thanks for confirming.
I have a colleague who can fix it, so how much are the spares going to cost?

More than its worth TBH.
If the pcb is faulty then I doubt your friend will be able to fix it.
The pcb is around £100 but has to be programmed, for that you need a £20,one use only smart card and a card reader that will cost you around £100 as well. 🙁December 3, 2013 at 5:01 pm #405635darkhorse

Is there any chance it could be something else less costly? Or is it likely that this is the only problem it could be?

Its an Indesit, anything and everything is possible. :rolls:
A visual and electrical check of the motor and wiring harness with suitable test equipment the first thing to do, with the mains plug removed of course.

Thank you for your help so far, much appreciated.
To give you a further explanation of the machines current behaviour. It was on a normal cycle and got to the spin cycle no problem, it’s when it finished the spin cycle the problem occurs. It sounds like its trying to click into another function but doesn’t and instead the door lock red light flashes and the green No.4 light flashes. The door is currently locked with washing in it but there is no water in the drum. Any further ideas? Also is there a way to over ride the door lock to get the washing out? I’ve tried switching it off and removing the plug etc but that doesn’t work.

That has the basic door interlock, it should open if there is no water in the drum and the power has been turned off for a few minutes.
If it doesn’t open after five minutes then it suggests the door interlock is faulty. The only way to get in if the doorlock is faulty is to reach in from the top and physically bend and twist the door interlock.
Also if the door lock has shorted out inside that quite often leads to main pcb failure as well.
All in all not sounding that good. The electronics on Indesit machines do have a reputation for poor reliability. 🙁

How do you know?
The only true way to establish there is no water in the drum is to remove the drain filter (have towels handy to mop up the flood). Only when all the water is drained from the machine and the power has been off for at least 3 minutes will the door have any chance of opening.
Oh and don’t get too physical with the door handle as you can break the door striker as easy as spitting!

I knew because I had removed the filter and drained excess water and mopped it up. I could also tell by the way the clothes where tumbling about inside that they were dry.
It doesn’t matter now any way because I solved the problem last night! 😀
I took the machine out, took the top panel off and had a look at the door lock. After trying to free it from inside with no luck, I gave the door a good thump from the outside and pulled the door handle at the same time. This released the catch and allowed me to get the clothes out. This was also the cause of the error lights because I then put it on a wash cycle and it completed it no problem.
Just shows you, you can’t take the error codes too literally…
Thanks again for the help I got on here though, much appreciated.

Don’t forget to buy a new door interlock otherwise the fault will surely return. 💡
