    does sound likely
    your getting 560,000 ohms on a 9v meter. if you used a 500v insulation tester it would be lower

    on the face of it, it looks like you have a faulty motor

    can i just plug it directly to the mains the same as i would with an induction motor ? is it as easy as putting mains voltage to the brush terminals and letting it rock and roll ?
