Helo_75 and his “check for loose connections on the board itself” is well out of order IMHO. 🙁 Stating “I’m willing to give it a go” may be his incentive but irresponsible is my take. 👿
On the other hand, if the module connections have been loosened by any rough handling then advising someone to check them first and save paying the £99+ labour charge would in no way be ‘irresponsible’ but in my book would be deemed to be very helpful indeed.
If suzana is not capable of doing this. and reading between the lines that appears to be the case then she should follow the advice given twice already in this thread and contact the Indesit Company.
However to state that helo_75’s advice is irresponsible is just mischief making. :rolls:

Suzana thinks she is capable of checking for loose conections if given proper instructions i.e. where is PCB in question to be found and what specific conections on it should be checked, also what to do and what not to do :rolls:
As I said in my earlier posts I was very happy and indeed keen to check this before dishing out £99, but none seems to be willing to put themselves on the line here and give actual instructions on how to do this ❓ As I have found quite detailed instructons on other replies in this forum for different things, I’m wandering if the fact that I am a woman might have something to do with this apparent lack of people willing to instruct. I am a woman, but I am also very experienced with tools, DIY and minor repair as I am very much hands on person, but as I don’t have the exact knowledge I thought it would be irrisponsible to pock around without proper instructions, that’s why I posted here – for instruction and practical help
So if someone is wiling to spare 5 minutes to write those down I would be very gratefull – you see I stil haven’t contacted Hotpoint as I simply can’t afford to atm. Many thanks 🙂

im not sure its because your a woman
the simple fact remains… it can be hazardous
even though its a public forum, safety has to be paramount, which is why we always advise removing the plugmartins comment is one of a few recently, all directed at me in a reasonably structured manner
anyway
1. plug out
2. the pcb is mounted at the rear of the machine, at the bottom
3. its behind the panel at the back of the machine, to the left, secured with 3 screws
4. its fiddly to take out, but it is, as i have said worth checking the connections to make sure theyre sound
5. please , and this isnt aimed at anyone in particular, try and see things from our point of view – it wouldnt be nice if you mabaged to severley injure yourself (or worse ) through advice freely given.. thats why sometimes its advised to be very careful when attempting a repairplease, leave it 20 minutes when u unplug it, and be methodical.. note where wires go, maybe take a picture , and, of course BE CAREFUL
i hope this helps you in some way

Thanks hello_75. I will be very, very careful indeed – you see I have a bigest incentive of all, it is after all my safety that’s at stake, so you can rest assured that I will be very careful indeed. The machine has now been unplugged for few days and I will check connections as advised this evening. I will let you know what I find.
Many thanks again 🙂
Wish me luck 😉February 23, 2009 at 5:40 pm #277571helo_75

My constructive and profession advice was that suzana take advantage of Hotpoint’s 5 year guarantee and that attempting a DIY fix would not resolve anything. I can be no more constructive than that. Furthermore I’m willing to wager that with the best will in the world and all possible aid by experts in this forum that no easy quick fix solutiion will be forthcoming.
Peace brother. 😉 🙂
