    Thank you for the replies.

Heater seems to work fine during wash cycle (Heating water) so isn’t open circuit.

With regard to the suggested heater insulation fault, I’m only using my limited knowledge of electrics here, but if the heater element had an insulation fault / current leakage to earth, would this not trip the circuit breaker at the distribution board / fuse box ?

    Regards, Soulman.

Very possibly yes but if the insulation is insufficient enough not to trigger the trip it could still compromise the electronics and cause no spin errors as well as others. Emphasis on the word “could”. 😉

    Ok guys, for your information.

The motor was indeed the problem.
I have this morning fitted a replacement motor (£25 Delivered / Ebay) and the machine works perfectly / spins once more.

For £25 I’m well happy with the (Used) motor that I bought off Ebay, came next day and was very well packaged.

The only sign of anything being amiss with the old motor was that the windings on One side were much darker in colour than the other, which would perhaps point to them getting very hot ?

Anyhow the machine is back up and running so all’s good.

I’d like to thank the people (Particularly Martin) that made suggestions as to what might be the cause of the problem.

    Regards, Soulman.

No probs Soulman, pleased you sorted it finally. Burnt out motor windings are usually a result of hard usage especially so if you do wash load after wash load without allowing the motor to cool down. Not always possible I know but spreading ‘washday’ throughout the week eases the strain on the motor.
