The bsamsung ones that expert service i am sorry to say CAB i have been to brand new ones the reason that the plastic has melted is not the steamers its either come from the factory like it or its their heaters staying on to long.
I am a ex EAC engineer yes you would have engineers who could not be bother to get there steamers out and use the hairdrier. But I have been to brand new ones and found the insulation exposed right by the braising joint of the evaporater so nit must of left the factory like it!
Steam is steam it will not damage the appliance like a hair drier does.Thermal fuses are a problem but if you test before or after then its not a problem if you dont then you can create a recall.
If the thermal fuse has gone on the samsungs you CANNOT force a defrost as the fuse has blown.
EAC might have had lazy engineers but which company hasnt I myself treated every job with a professional attitude as was proud to be a eac engineer right up to the day of being made redundant and still are today yes its been hard being self employed over the last 4 months but how many recalls have i had 3 out of 300 calls.(1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}).
So dont always blame eac engineers there are alot of other cowboys out there.(including the manufactures service arms).
Sorry for the outblast now i have cleared my chest i can go and do some calls.
