Hi,
I have a cooker hood with two motors. They should like them

My question is what’s the meaning of clockwise or anti-clockwise directional motors. How to put them in my cooker hood (which motor should I put in the right and the left side fo the cooker hood) ?

What’s the make and model number of the hood to start with? Are you sure the motor(s) have failed?

The motos are not failed at all. I cleaned them one time but they lost their balance and make noise. I want to replace them. But the question does not concerns a failed part but in theory why we need two motors with different rotating directions and how to use them.

Be careful, universal does not mean that they will fit anything only that they will fit a range of products often made by a couple of manufacturers and rebranded as many.
If it’s a dual motor hood you have it’s probably an Elica if it’s domestic and those motors will not fit it.

Yes, right, its Elica…. I will verify them before the final purchase… but the main question is still there, what the purpose of the clockwise & anti-clockwise motors in the working process of the cooking hood ?

One runs one way, the other the opposite driving air to a single flow.

Without that there’s no way to tell you much of anything at all, it is essential.
Not having it is akin to walking into Ford and say, “I have a Ford I need a part but don’t know what Ford I have”.

Dear kwatt, I dont ask about part numbers but the way I should put the motors in the cooking hood. I am confused because here we have two motors that are rotating in the opposite way and the way I see it, we have to build such a condition that the two motors together they should suck air from the room in a main stream of air.
I suppose in theory at least all cooking hoods that are using two motors with a clockwise and anti-clockwise rotating directions are working with the same way…..

I should have thought it pretty simple, to pull more air in a smaller frame where there’s not the space for a larger motor. So you get a high extraction rate with a smaller footprint.
But they do need to be correct for the hood or you will have issues if you can even physically fit them let alone connect them electrically without blowing the switches or board.

the two motors are the same. I opened in the past to clean them, and maybe then I reversed them since i didn’t know that they are rotating differently, so I missed to mark them before that. But now I want to change them completely and I want to put them in the right way.
Anyway, i will try to find the model and I will let you know.
