ParticipantHi my whirlpool diplomat dishwasher was running great until the other day I came in from work and I could hear it beeping so I canceld the beeping and thought I’ll look at it later
so I set it away on a rinse and it starts doing its thing but about 1 minute in there is is a noise like when it drops the tablet like a bang then the machine stops no flashing lights no beeps so I can’t get a error code to point me in right direction
Iv have it on its side today and had a look but nothing looks damagedAny help would be very helpful thanks

they have a habit of breaking wires at the bottom of the door. remove door cover and check wires as they bend to go underneath, be careful if there are breaks make sure you know which wire joints to what as a lot of them are black

first off the drain punp should start bit of a whiring sound
than this stops and machine fills
then the main motor kicks in you will hear a louder wooshing sound
these main motors fail and when thay do they can go in one of 2 ways
way 1 you get a throbbing sound
way 2 complete silenceyou may have a main motor failure current part no 481010625629
do a google image search of number. to be certain you have to check for power on the motor but no start

Another Askoll pump, not a very successful experiment by Whirlpool! The part number Dave gave is a conversion to the older (much more reliable) pump…looks very different but will sort the problem…

Yes, i meant the old ‘type’ pump…cap run motor through a seal…
Hope it doesn’t work the same as the Askoll 😆
