We have a shop, selling half recons and half new. There is still a market for recons, but its a third of its value compared to two years ago. Dont believe you can’t compete on prices with the big boys – even buying new through wholesale distributors like DAD, we still manage to make decent profits and compete well with the big boys, when you take into account the services they offer for the price they charge. For big organisations to deliver, unpack install and remove your old machine all costs extra – NOT so with the independent – it’s all done within the price on the ticket. The independent will always win hands down on customer service (if they’re doing it properly!) 🙂

    Re: Would you buy Remploy

I work for Remploy out of the Leeds site, I have read the comments that have been posted with regard to Remploys machines, all i can say to that is “we have vastly improved” in my time here at Leeds, I was brought in to steady the shinking ship (so to speak) I used to be self Employed before I went onto Remploys books, but they offered me a contract and I took it and haven’t looked back since, The ship at Leeds is now steady. Yes its still not perfect like some of you guys make out that you are, but whose company is!!
We sell Recon domestic appliances to Trade and retail outlets through out the Country, however most of our business is now with Charity shops such as BHF, Oxfam and Scope.
We have just started the trial with ISE (Thanks John) to take back all trade in appliances if the trial works it will be rolled out to other ISE agents, so fingers crossed I amy be seeing some of you chaps, and who knows selling you the odd Quality recon Washer!
