Hi All
Just to let you know that as of now ALL the reserved rooms have been taken and that amounts to approx 38 rooms which is half the hotels capacity. Won’t be much room at the bar then. As of this week there is also approx 160 registrations to attend. We also have the regular spares suppliers and also a couple more new ones that have joined the suppliers which will be attending. Test4less will also be attending with a few deals and also if you require any test equipment that needs calibrating then nows the time to do it as they give WTA members a special deal on calibration.
Also those who are attending and have got their baking aprons on there will be a worth while prize to the best one. All monies raised will go to the Air ambulance rescue branch that attended our long standing member who we lost last year John Mc Kenzie.
See you there.

I have no clue about the cake thing either and, gotta say, don’t much care as it’s not why I go there.
However there is actually closer to 170 registered to attend and I know there’s some attending that haven’t yet registered.

Hi EddieWe are doing a charity cake eat..you donate for how ever much you want to have and eat. The best cake design will have a prize.Cakes are donated by WTA members and the hotel staff but not judged by either.
The hotel done one a couple of years ago which co insider with our Sept meet and I think that Rolland must have eaten half of them.
Any money raised will be donated to the Air ambulance service that attended John Mc Kenzie.Bryan

sorry everyone, been unable to shake off a bad virus/infection so could not make it in the end. Reminds me as I was taken ill at last years meeting and did not want a repeat. Obviously a bad time of year for me these days.

As anyone at the conference (technically yesterday but still today for me) knows there were a couple of announcements made that WTA members will be keen to know more about.
Honestly, we’ve been so slammed organising the conference and so on that we’ve not gotten to finalising all the docs etc for the registration and health check.
We will do so in due course, promise we will ASAP.
But please for the time being can you keep any conversation in the WTA forum as it is exclusive to WTA members and I doubt non-members will be all that interested as they cannot participate in it. So, little point in posting in the general forum etc about it.
For members that missed the meeting… shame on you! 😉
Just kidding, you’ll get the skinny on what I’m on about shortly in the WTA forum or on the member’s mailing list.

I wish the Healthcheck scheme every success. But I have to say that if anyone visits the WTA site and wades through all the wealth of insider knowledge contained within the article ‘How long should a machine last’ AND the further link to the UKW pages, I think many would simply give up the idea of registering and let fate take its course. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

People tend to hit that stuff when they’ve already got a problem Martin, usually looking for something to help them fight their corner as it were with retailers and manufacturers. :rolls:
I take the point though however, personally I do think that the Healthcheck will appeal to a different audience in large part.
One that I’d be keen to see how it fares on, as others have also noted, is the like of housing associations, council facilities and so on as, until now this sort of thing hasn’t really been an option. Now it is.
And of course it can be promoted with every recall that comes along, with recent history on that score I’m guessing we may not have to wait all that long before yet another one pops up. 😉
