It must be a network problem of some sort.
My main connection is via Virgin Media (ex Ntl) 20 meg cable. I also have a Zen Internet dial up account, had it for well over 15 years and keep it is an ultra reliable back up.
Just disabled the LAN and using the Zen dial up connection I can access the WTA site. 😕
John, Martin, what ISP do you use?

I thought you were on VM (Ntl) cable John.
It has been suggested that I specify my DNS servers.
That is something that I have never had to do for some years now, as it only seems to be the WTA site I will hold fire on that option for now.

Check to see that the WTA site is not blocked in your firewall Jim

Never has been blocked George and I was able to access the WTA site via my dial up connection which is also firewalled. 😉
It was fine until three or four days ago, now times out every time.

What OS are you using Jim?

Hi George,
Its not my PC or my OS, its a network problem, might be some wireless router settings but I have not changed them.
If I try to access the WTA site with my Nokia N900 at home on the wireless network it will not connect but if I use the same phone away from home using o2 mobile web I can access the WTA site, this confirms that it is not my PC firewall, OS or basic PC settings. 😉

All sorted, it was a network problem. Something wrong with the DNS servers, not sure why others managed to access the site after earlier having problems and yet I could not. ❓
Whatever the initial problem was it seems to have upset the Virgin Media DNS servers that I am automatically routed through.
I opened my network connections and specified two DNS servers ( used the Google ones ) 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, the WTA site is now loading. 😀

What OS are you running, if like me it is Win XP then ‘specify’ your DNS servers.
Go to START/Control Panel/Network and Internet Connections/Network Connections and right click on your LAN or High Speed Internet.
Select properties then click once on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, do not touch the tick box at the left.
Then select Properties, in General Properties in the lower box select ‘Use the following DNS server addresses’.
In the Preferred DNS server enter 8.8.8.8 that is to say one 8 in each space between dots.
Then in Alternate DNS server enter 8.8.4.4
Then click OK.
Those are Googles DNS servers and they seem to be working very well ATM, my browsing speed has improved noticeably since I specified them.
If you are using a later OS then you need to find your Network Connections via Control Panel to locate your LAN settings.
