    20 Sept 2006

(REVISED) Turkish appliance maker Arçelik says it has developed the “the world’s fastest dishwasher.” The dishwasher, model 6271 E, has a 12-place setting capacity and can wash a full load in 58 minutes.

But the dishwasher also offers the Super Mini 20-minute, 35°C program for 6 place settings.

The dishwasher also has an LCD screen and keeps the chosen program and functions in its memory and reminds them to the user the next time.

An Autosense Sensor System determines the degree of soiling on the dishes and automatically adjusts wash time, water temperature and water fill level. An Extra Drying Function quickly dries dishes and is said to give them a shiny appearance. A special upper basket height adjustment allows users to adjust the basket easily with just one movement, even if the basket is full. This feature helps users get last minute dishes or large trays into the dishwasher.

Prizes for those that can translate what the banner on the front of it says?…….. 🙂

It sounds very good but will filling it with clean crockery and cutlery for test purposes totally confuse it? 😕

And just so as I can keep you all up to speed as it were, here is the latest from Siemens…. 😀

And the blurb that goes with it……..

To increase wash efficiency on its units, Siemens Home Appliances integrated a slanted tub design in its ultraSense™ Laundry System in combination with specially designed drum paddles. “The paddles are moving the clothes forward, the tilt in the tub is moving them backward and then of course, the drum is moving them around in both directions,” Chris Shanley, product manager for BSH Home Appliances, explains. The unit also features sensor “smarts” that optimize wash cycles based on water temperature, running time and suds level.

Watch out for these sooner rather than later…. 😉

Oh by the way? Has anyone sussed the Arçelik banner yet…come on…what does it say?….Prizes for the first one that gets it right….. 😀

Ironing could become a thing of the past thanks to an invention which dries clothes wrinkle-free.

The “Driron” is about to launch in Britain after being unveiled in Madrid. Made by the Spanish company Fagor, it looks like a fridge-freezer and will sell for £1,070.

    The Fagor Driron

Clothes are hung inside the Driron and weighed down with clip-on attachments. The heat dries the clothes and also creates the steam used to rid them of wrinkles.

Small objects such as socks or underwear are placed in the rack on top. Fagor says that its machine is the first that can handle all kinds of clothes. “We think there are a lot of double-income families out there with little time to spare,” said managing director Jose.

Gaytan de Ayala. “We also think this will be attractive to young people, many of whom have done little or no ironing in their lives.”

I may be mistaken but I’m sure that Martin posted a picture of a Flatley dryer on here a good while back.
