    Re: Zanussi E40 fault

    Hi mike
    I went into the diagnostic setup 3 times after refitting the board and it made no difference at all, just would not get past the first function led then displaying E42.
    I then put the original door interlock back on and a E40 fault re appeared
    Also you could select the various programmes with the fascia module and press start and E40 did not come up with new interlock on, you just could not see the machine springing into action though .

    OK, I’ve looked it up in the service manual. To cancel the last alarm code you have to 1. enter diagnostics mode 2.select 10th position = “reading of alarm” (so I think this would be the 10th led as you move through them by pressing the option buttons) 3. When you have reached that point, press and hold start/pause and skip/reset.
    Anyway, I’ll see if it’s possible to send you something via that little blue envelope button. If nothing arrives pm me your e-mail address.
    Mike.

    E42 is one of 5 door related alarm codes. It reads “E42 Problems of door closure – Door interlock faulty; wiring faulty;
    PCB faulty. – Cycle paused.” I still think you may just need to cancel it – but I could be wrong.

    Re: Zanussi E40 fault

    I went back to this machine yet again.
    I cleared the fault memory but still got anE42 error when trying to use the machine .
    I had difficulty in getting machine to clear error code as it would only go to the number eight led and not to number ten led on the display board .
    However i did find it cleared the code on led number eight .
    The machine has now been scrapped with lots of nice bits to keep other machines washing merrily .
    The customer now has a shiny new Bosch Classix ➡
