Went to this today, unfortunately when I fired up TDS on my laptop it threw a wobbly and would not load. 😥 Will have to re install later.

Switch on, select programme, press start, door locks then you can hear a loud clicking noise four or five times then it starts beeping and start neon and at least one progress neon is flashing. Any pointers before I return.

    Hi Jim

My thoughts would be either faulty door interlock (but strange why it locks on initially :?) , pump or motor and damaging the module at point of failure .

Having found the fault a visual inspection of module normally reveals all and I send it off to QER for repair to bring repair in at an economical and acceptable price to the customer. It’s a wee bit tricky to remove module but like most of these things once you’ve done one it’s a doddle the next time :D.

Thanks Bryan, I managed to sort out TDS on my lappy so like General McArthur, “I shall return”, or was that Arnold Swarzenegger, but no, he said was “I’ll be back” didn’t he. 😀

    Hi Jim,

A quick look on Connections seems to show this as a solenoid interlock.

I have changed two of these for making a clicking noise.

To be honest, I had a look a down at the interlock, looks like a bog standard Zanussi one to me, unless anyone knows different. 😉

This has a door handle release, not a push button door release which is the type that normally has a solenoid operated door lock.

Solenoid locks look quite similar to 3pin/4pin locks, the solenoid locks are prone to clicking(mine went !!!), the only other thing that springs to mind is a blockage in the manifold/filter, the pressure switch and pump alternate on and off if badly blocked.

    best of luck.

The door interlock on this machine does appear to be a standard door lock, evidenced by the fact that if you unplug the machine after the door has locked you have to wait one minute before the door opens via the door handle, you can hear the distinctive click as the bi metal lock releases.

Door lock is a 12496751213 which looks like a non solenoid door lock to me. 😕

Just as a matter of interest, what is the Connections price for that part?
    Don’t use Connect.

Clever devices these , if you remove power it’ll take a minute or two to release but if you forward to the end of cycle it’ll over-ride the delay and release immediately.

Hence the expensive price I guess.

    Connect – £16:29 each or 2@£14:99

PS – Just noticed Masterpart 2@£5:99 to anyone :D.

    Jim,

Don’t be shy 😳 and open (dismantle) door lock device… there are just few screws… (first time is scaring but have trust that will be ok) 😉 … So you can clean contacts and see what is wrong inside… (if this part is faulty).
I have had such problem when somebody, before calling me, have changed original doorlock with wrong one… So you need to know which one you need:
    – simple thermal ❓
    – instant + thermal lock ❓
    – or instant lock ❓

In order to give such symptoms can be also faulty: wires, heater, pressure switch and PCB.
