Zanussi freezone 61 – working out possible issue

I think that ‘tap’ that resulted in the light going off also has affected the occasional ability for the fridge to work. It doesn’t seem to have for a couple of days now & of course I can’t get a replacement fridge delivered until after xmas. I don’t suppose there’s any point me looking inside the plastic housing around the temperature knob to see if anything has become disconnected with the thermostat ?

its unlikely anything is disconnected

if it was me at this point i would get a multi meter and check for continuity between the stat terminals

thanks. will try to find something online showing how to get into the plastic cover etc. I don’t have a multi-meter but will see if I can find one
