Hi Dave,
Thanks for the quick response on the belt and getting the part dispatched. Took the covers off the machine this morning only to find the belt intact. The drum was not turning and it felt easy to turn. So with 1+1=3, I got it wrong. I checked all the wiring/connections and got it to start spinning again however the motor was arcing badly, eventually it stopped again and will not start, after one last big arc and tripping out the ELCB. Do you know how much a motor is. Also if it is most likely the brushes are done, are these easy to swap out instead. I am moving back to Portland in a month so I just need it to last that long. If it is the motor then it is probrably not worth fixing for me.

The motor is around £130, it may just be the brushes worn down, although the fact that it took the RCD out is a little worrying.
THere will be a make on the motor itself, we’ll need this to identify which brushes you need.
Hope this helps.
Dave.

Hi Dave,
Thanks again for getting back to me. The label on the motor has:C.E. SET.
Castell’ Allero (AT) – ITALY
Motore Universale
MCA 38/64 – 148 / ZN1
13400 n’ – 2A – 410W
220 / 240V – 50Hz cl. B/F
Protteto Termanente
Cond. 12405480/0When the motor was “dying” it was sometimes catching and other times not, when it was trying to turn the clothers over. When it would catch for a spin cycle it would keep going, but it would still be noisy, as if it was still arcing. I still have the motor in the machine however from the access I have at the rear it does not feel like it comes apart. Is it easy to fit the bushes.

Nicole,
We do have a problem here in that your “CESET Motor” can also have 2 variants of Motor Brush and I for 1 cannot be sure which it may be. 🙁
Can I therefore suggest you take one of them out and either photograph it and send us the picture (via email of course) OR go to your local spares supplier, place it on the counter and ask for a suitable replacement
Clearly that is the problem with your machine anyway 😀

Hi,
I got the motor out and the brushes are very easy to take off. Unfortunately now I cannot find my digital camera. So I will try to find a local dealer. How much should I pay.

I have got the same motor, but I do’nt have any controlling electronics. And I do’nt have any information about the motor.
Do you know what kind of motor it is?How do i start it, where do i put the 230V~ ?
There are seven terminals! What are they all good for?
My motor has exactly the same label as the one above.

Mr Conway has asked you once, I am asking you again – what are you trying to do with the motor?
This site exists in part to assist people to safely repair appliances. We do not advise on other applications.
