ParticipantAnother quick update. I just contacted Domex UK who are also on the list of approved repairers and price is £35 plus VAT for the diagnostic, then £18 plus VAT for the labour/repair plus parts.
Seems a good price as long as the parts are not overpriced I guess!
Anyway, I’ve booked them.
Anyone know what Domex are like?

ParticipantWell Domex came and it seems it needs a door seal. The price is £42 plus VAT for the door seal which seems a bit over the top. And said it will tae 7 days from ordering to arrive which also seems a bit much.
I’ve asked Domex for the part number but they are getting back to me as I’m sure it can be ordered not just quicker but also cheaper.
Any advice from folks here as to what door seal they are referring to which I assume is the rubber seal and also how much it should cost.
Your advice please!

£42 is a reasonable price for a Genuine Zanussi washer/dryer seal. 7 days to get back to you is what you should expect. I doubt it would take 7 days for them to receive the part but it all depends on the supplier.
Fitting a door seal to a Zanussi washer dryer is tricky. You can’t be tought how to fit them, every engineer has there own way. You need a special too to refit the duct clip.
I would strongly advise against a non genuine door seal (thats if you can get them) The rubber tends to be thinner and don’t last as long

ParticipantThanks for the info, as I have now discovered, those door seals, are not cheap!
But quite amazing that a door seal represents about 12{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the cost of the washing machine….

Not if its a Miele, the last price I heard quoted for a Miele washer/dryer door seal was £245.00 😯
