Ok, the PNC number is listed on the PCB housing on my machine, anyway, its worth a try.
    Cheers

Well this isn’t going to plan. I swapped the PCB for the replacement taking into account what you said Dave thank you. the PNC number is clearly shown on the part, or at least a PNC number is on there, the replacement part had identical numbers except for the date, which for the purpose of clarity ( the photo I have is too big and im a dinosaur as far as resizing it goes)
    PNC (ELC) 914906217(02)
    MCF 192873391.001
    CCF 132729702.030
    Firmware WPA30102
    Date 12-08-03 (replacement is 12-05-28)
    User sysloc on PS80

However the machine is doing exactly the same thing, so either this part has the same problem which I think unlikely.
The only other part left I believe is the control panel.

Before I use anger managment on the machine and render it inoperative, which component gives the signal to the water inlet solenoids to get them to open ?
I would have expected it to be the PCB.
I can see that the water level should be controlled by the pressure switch all be it indirectly and I may have a defective replacement part there but it still doesn’t explain why the water is not coming in to the drawer by the main water path.

Does the control panel activate the water valves ? or an I missing something completely ?

Maybe I should just call an engineer ( I hate being beaten, it’s only a washer !!!!)

did you do a physical check of the pressure hose to make sure its not rubbed through ?

Yes, had it completely off, also blown down and its clear and it holds vacuum when I suck it.
I haven’t physically removed the pressure chamber but would expect that something would show just by doing that.

forget vacuum its under very low pressure. all it needs is a pin hole and it will over fill

Thanks, ok I will replace it just in case.
but would that impact the fact that water is not going to the main wash part of the drawer ?

just a good inspection will do. look to see if its been rubbed through anywhere normally as it goes through a clip

as for the wash container the answer is maybe. some machines take in a few litres and then swop valves. if it cant measure the water going in it will think its still not got enough

Well Dave, thank you for your help, the washer is working again, as you said, the pipe had a hole in it which I missed . Price of the offending part ? £1.99 delivered. price of parts now in stock for not being thorough enough ? around £110 .
    Lesson learned mate !!

The wonderful irony of this is that I come across similar situations in my own line of work where people just guess and I find some amusement in that !
Thanks again your patience is very much appreciated.

in real lifs only people with endless pockets can afford to change parts in the hope of fixing it.
Years ago I was gobsmacked when a colston engineer (now part of whirlpool) told me they were taught “change that, if it does not work change that etc”. As an independant I would be bankrupt in days doing that lol
