Heard this third hand so thought the Rumour Mill was the place to post.

A shop that passes repair work to me had a visit from his Connect rep, informing him that Dyson require full RRP to be paid for stock and the shop then claims back the difference between trade and retail price once the unit has been sold.

On this basis he has decided to stop stocking Dyson and looking at other makes and favouring Sebo.

As a dyson approved dealer, this is not totally correct.

We order a new dyson in from CDSL this will be charged full retail less 8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d},once we then sell dyson on we claim back another 14.8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

dyson are attempting to stop internet traders b*****dizing the price.

Karcher I believe have done something similar.
So – if you don’t mind me asking, whatprice do you pay at these ‘trade; rates for a DC24 INDEPENDENT (Iron/Silver/Blue). Not trying to undercut or be devious in any way, just curious as the figures I have do not add up to what you mention, and I’ve never heard of having to claim money back from CDSL after the retail sale :conf:

So, is contract work the lifeblood of servicing or the nemesis?
    What do you think Alex?
