    its very sad, the end of family life and local weekend activities to please the 24 hour 70 to 80 hour working week society that we have in this country, hasn’t caught on in the rest of europe just here where we like to pretend we are america, close everything on a sunday!!

    i just ask customers why they cant go in to work on a saturday so i can call on a friday??

    just say no,, nobody should have to work weekends, after 25 years of not working weekends i have found customers can allways find someone to have the key or will accept a early before work call.
    the whole of europe has family time and weekends off, longer holidays and less working hours, we wont be working sundays.

    I recently read if we all worked fewer hours there would be more jobs, fewer unemployed, which would mean less tax which would make up the loss of pay from shorter hours, less work for the same pay!!

    connect are driving us mad, ringing every few mins , please update this job, please ring this customer please do this please do that, half the time we have done it and there system is slow to update, or the rest of the time we cant do it as they are clogging up the phone lines!!!!!!!! rant over

    Spoke to a delivery driver from knowhow, to get around driving breaks they are expected to time instalation calls to coincide with required breaks from driving, you dont get breaks if you work for know how

    currys guys will work
    2760 hours and get 148 days off + holidays

    normal monday to friday 8 hour days
    2080 hours and get 104 days off + holidays

    thats a extra 85 ,, 8 hour days they will work for there wage it is a terrible deal with all the weekend work you get 2 weekends off in 7.
