You will get what you pay for.

Thats interesting as we thought that when we bought our SMEG DWF66 but it hasn’t proved that reliable TBH.

4 breakdowns in 4 years, the first was 1 month outside the 2 year warranty period which in all fairness SMEG did honour (we paid for the parts) but then again we paid around £480 for it.

I doubt we’d buy a SMEG DW again given our experience, others may vary.

It does wash well but it breaks down every year (normally repairable), we’re thinking of a Miele DW now Sidney Smeg is on his way out 🙁

    All above just IMHO.

    Heh heh,

Nope, I’m Dave the bass of ‘Sarf Lundun’/ Kent, of no fame whatsoever but gigging in zillions of Funk/Jazz/rock/country etc etc bands for years…

Yeah, its a bummer about the hassle we’ve had with our ‘Sidney’ (Smeg) as he’s called. Took ages to save up for then goes wrong once a year every year! Boo.

Thanks for the advice BTW. The bearings in the recirculation motor are fine, it looks like the seal on the impellor was just about to give up anyway, theres a trace of calcified water across the alloy housing. The thread on the impellor is shot so I’ll just have to purchase the cap end/impellor housing, phew.

    All the best,

    DTB.
