ParticipantThe Samsung is great.
Dries much quicker than expected. If just throwing in a few items, 30 minutes, they are dry.
For everything else, have had half loads done in 90 minutes, bigger loads maybe 2 half hours.
I guess all heat pump dryers are not created equal.

ParticipantI am going to go with this Samsung:
Samsung 9kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer (DV90M5000IW) | Samsung UK
Yes, it is a heat pump but it has a 5 year parts and labour warranty so if they are happy to give that, fine by me. Better than the pitiful 1year Hoover give.
It is a smaller drum than I would like but only seems to be Hoover doing the 11Kg drums.
History has taught me one thing with Hoover products… they go south quickly and either loose performance or get louder for some reason.

ParticipantIs it getting to the stage where “repairs” of these products are becoming too time consuming or just not financially viable?

Not really, no.
Other than as Don says manufacturers going down that road for energy use requirements. People will just be forced to accept it.

So balancing efficiency vs costs to run and general maintenance, is a Condensing or Vented dryer the best of pick?

ParticipantAlso, I understand why people dislike heat pumps but they are a much more sustainable alternative to having clothes on a radiator in the winter with all the problems that causes.

That article is over 5 years old, I understand the basics of the article are still valid but have things changed over the years?

I’m sure you can likely work out the rest.

Fair enough 😀
Will up the budget then.
What brands should be considered?

ParticipantRe: Ariston – A1636s Error F03?
So what is looking to be the most likely fault at the moment and what would the fix be?
Where is the plug for the NTC sensor?
Yes, this is new to me but am prepared to do what I can. You learn by trying right.
gimpymoo
ParticipantWhich would mean im shafted?
So, would the £100 Ariston fix be worth it then?
gimpymoo
Participantlol
I know that now… 🙂
If I can get it through the summer. i’ll be happy.
Thanks for all the help you guys give and taking the time to post, this really is a great resource.

ParticipantOK, ive replaced the Board yet still have the exact same problem – lol
So, either:
The replacement board has the same fault.. unlikely?
The temperature sensor is faulty.
If it is the Temperature sensor, how much would this cost to fix and how difficult a job is it?
Im determined to fix this myself.
Many Thanks.

ParticipantRe: Ariston – A1636s Error F03?
I know you did, im not blaming anyone, other than myself.
Well, it didnt blow during a spin cycle.
Mmmm, any other way double checking the connections?
gimpymoo
ParticipantLOL – Fair enough.
When I said wiring diagram it was more a case of which headers plug into where.
Well, I connected it up and its doing a spin cycle OK…
So that is partial good news… will try a wash and see what happens.
If the headers are connected to the wrong part of the board, other than it blowing up, what else could happen? Some switches wont work?
gimpymoo
ParticipantDOH – Forgot where one of the wires came from.. meant to take a photo and forgot.. Oh, well here goes..
Unless anyone has a wiring diagram?
