Haha no fortunately I am wise enough to not plug the old interlock into the new panel 😆 I have read about earth leaks on the element or the motor. I have tried disconnecting them but that didn’t work, unfortunately I do not have a megger to test for earth leaks. I did try an ohm meter which showed no continuity to earth but of course it could be leaking at high voltage. If I have no joy with the interlock I will try and find someone to do an insulation test.

Wow thanks for the quick reply, I did think the problem might be something to do with the door lock still.
I had the same problem when I first accuired the machine, I fiddled with the interlock (bent the main contact inside) and the machine worked fine for 3 months until Christmas eve when it tripped the electric. When I turned it back on it just beeped 4 times like it did before I bent the contact and like it is doing now. I opened up the control module and found a burnt track. I replaced the interlock and repaired the board but it still didn’t work, hence why I replaced the board.
As you can gather that still didn’t work. I will check the wiring again although I am sure I have done that already. I guess the replacement interlock could be faulty although I suspected that before and had a peek inside it, nothing is burnt or broken and it is quite simple so I doubt that is the problem.
Is it common for them to not go into diagnostics mode service when this fault occurs? and why does the machine try to operate by itself?
Anyway I will get the meter out again tonight and see what I find, I’ll reply with my findings later, cheers.

Can anyone tell me how to configure a PCB for a Zanussi FX1465w. I had a problem with the interlock which blew the PCB, I got a new PCB and interlock and fitted it but the machine just bleeps 4 times (without me pressing anything, it starts after the machine is switched on) and the start light flashes. I have tried disconnecting all sort of components and metered the pressure switch nothing changes this behaviour the interlock also click. I cannot get the machine to enter diagnostics mode, if I switch on holding the start/pause buttons nothing happens until the beeping starts again. I am sure the control module was a configured one but I am wondering if maybe it was not and that could be the problem.

Haven’t got hold of an insulation tester yet, went round the machine with a multimeter meter though. Didn’t find any broken wires, heater element is reading 30ohms, drain pump 170ohms. I didn’t detect any leaks to earth on the motor or heater but I am well aware that they may only show up under a high voltage test.

Ok I guess that makes sense, I usually spend my time diagnosing faults on my car and that too often does not display an error code. I am still a little stumped as to why it will not enter the diagnostics mode, even if there is no error code logged I would expect to be able to enter the diagnostics mode. However holding in the start/pause button plus one other option button and turning the dial one click clockwise does nothing, no beeps and no scrolling LED’s. Everything I have read suggests this is the correct way to enter this machine into diag. mode.

Ok I am with you, so the PCB could have detected a fault when I first fitted it and now even with everything disconnected it still thinks the fault is present?. What I don’t understand is why my machine will not enter diagnostics mode and flash the error code, has anyone seen that behaviour before? surely if the PCB is detecting a fault I should be able to read the code?. Cheers

    Re: Zanussi FX1465w XC6 problem

Ok so I tried disconnecting the motor to eliminate a ground fault, still exactly the same. This got me thinking so I unplugged everything from the PCB except for the main power lead, turned it on and guess what? same thing happened. Start light flashes for 30 secs then goes out door lock cycles and then end light flashes 3 times accompanied by 3 beeps. Now normally I would conclude that the PCB is at fault however the PCB is a)brand new b)not showing any sign of damage or blown tracks or components c)it is displaying the same problem I had with the previous PCB. So it seems to be something in the machine causing the problem but what elese is there?, I unplugged everything from the PCB apart from the power supply. The only thing the power supply goes through is some sort of capacitor, could this be at fault? It almost seems like the machine times out, if you press the start button when the machine is fully wired up it will take on water for ten seconds and then suddenly shut off, then the beeps/flashes re-appear and the drain pump runs.

Cool thanks for the help, I have tried disconnecting the heater element surely that would eliminate that part from the equation?. I have not tried disconnecting the motor however, I will give that a try next, if disconnecting them is not sufficient I will try and get someone to put a meggar on it.
