Thanks
That clears that one upWith regard to the switch, what am I looking of when I have it removed to determine the problem with it ?
Will a clean fix it ?
If a new one is required do I need the whole assembly ?
Where can I locate part nos and prices etc ?May 19, 2009 at 9:29 am in reply to: Whirlpool ADG 7440 start 4 beeps + flashes 30 sec pump run #287008ploane

Again thanks for the additional information
Yes I will be fully isolating the machine before attempting any work on it.Can you clarify one point in your last mail. You say the black grid will come off but only when the whole assembly is removed; then that it is possible to remove while the machine is in situ ?
Is it the assembly that is possible to remove while the machine is in situ OR the black grid ?
If it is the assembly do you mean you can reach under somehow to get access to it ?
Or is it possible to remove the black grid from inside the machine and clean inside with any prospect of success ?
Apologies for repeat clarification request, but I would like to have all info clear before starting to work, and have not worked on dishwashers (yet 🙂 )

Thanks for the reply
If possible I would like to get more info before going near machine which is built in with (I’m fairly certain) plug behind machine, and will be a struggle to remove, based on how the rest of the kitchen was installed. Can you give more detail regarding location and function of “level switch” ? Is it monitoring water level ? or machine level ?
When you say check it again what am I checking for ? I have not checked it previously as I was not aware it existed behind grid
Can the black grid be removed ? If so how?
This problem has appeared and disappeared and now is back again in case that is somehow relevant.
If it is the level switch, what is the approx cost of a new one ? and is it an easy fit (sounds like it) once machine is out ?
Replies appreciated
