    Thats great to hear!
I am assuming you just let out to regular old folk though right?
Seems student housing landlords just hope and assume no students cares enough.
Which is odd as even mould in peoples homes has been know to kill people.

So really no matter how in tune with this you are. No matter how much attention you pay, you are never really going to get it perfect every time?

I mean I can see why some people are saying use less but when you get people saying literally 2 spoonfuls no matter what the size of the load thats when I have to believe that is just far too little. They seem under the impression that too little is no such a thing when it definitely is.

you run a forum about washing machines,
if you’re implying I am being a bit anal about this stuff then imagine how you must seem to 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the world,
who unless someone specifically alerted them to how bad their machines could look inside really couldn’t care less about the state of their machines

    Ingredient lists,
Interesting to note how the colour powder variety doesn’t have optical brighteners.

Re: Is this mould problem beyond repair?

I do actually use Daz powder ocassionally.
This is a student house, so the machine was in this condition before i arrived here. In fact the drum was absolutely horrific until i started using milton and doing a maintenance wash.
practically all of my housemates use liquid or gel, and I can’t really force them to switch so doing that maintenance wash every month is essential now.

I think i have done about 4/5 of them by now because I remember doing 2 of them fairly close together.

I still have a few pods left, but after I am considering completely going to powder.

So you’re saying this is actually possible to sort out?

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

    Well check my photographs above,
honest to god one of them is the colour & style and the other is the regular one.
    exactly the same.
I use them cos I believe liquids don’t fade colours as much as even a colour powder.

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

Still aren’t willing to accept there isn’t a difference between the two types of ariel pods though are you 😉

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

So you’re saying tablets while not as great as powder, are still better to use for whites than these pods/ liquid tabs or any form of liquid?

Still I find it kind of suspicious about that colour variety, they both don’t contain bleach and it makes no mention of the optical brighteners being stronger on the colour.

If anything i just think the original smells a bit better once it is washed.
and the tablet is just a different colour for show.

I know this site really advocates the use of Ariel and I do have to agree I believe it is the best detergent out there but can you really believe a company like P & G would be totally honest with you?

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

You have clearly never seen a box of ariel pods.

All the actual boxes are still green it’s only the labelling at the front that is different.

Look at the barcodes as well…

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

The 2 pictures I posted are 2 different boxes of ariel 3 in 1 pods.

One is the normal variety and the other one is the colour & style variant.

You have missed my point, these are both liquid pods. I know the liquids versions cannot contain bleach which is why I find it strange that they would bother making a colour variant for pods or liquid tablets or any form of liquid for that matter.

In powders yes it makes sense cos the normal boxes do contain bleach and I know that is what fades colours.
But look at the ingredients here.
Not one difference between ariels original 3 in 1 pods compared to the colour & style variant.

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

I was more trying to make a point that the ingredients are no different,
and surely it is that at least one ingredient would be different to suit the colour & style that promote.

    Got it at last,
I don’t think i’ll be able to highlight the ingredients to make it simpler to read cos the file size just gets too big but let me know what you think.

Re: Ariel colour tablets no different to regular variety?

It’s stupid how the forums size constraints for files are so tight.
I nearly got it small enough as jpg 2000 but they don’t allow you to upload that file type.
If anyone can supply photos of the back though the ingredients are exactly the same.
Unless the optical brighteners are made differently but they don’t feel like they need to point that out.

Re: Is this mould problem beyond repair?

That’s what I mean. Its such a shame because it is such a brilliant machine.
If it had been kept in good nick there would be no reason this couldn’t last a lifetime.
    You cannot fault Miele appliances.
I am assuming it was a previous machine he owned and knew no matter how it was treated it was going to last a long time so he decided to leave it in this house.
Well anyway i’m keeping up with the maintenance washes and using milton disinfectant.

I’ll try cleaning all inside that area and we will see what happens.

I’ll have a word with the landlord too.
