ParticipantRe: cooker instal regulations (unit height above cooker)
i have to agree with presser,i too have come across this situation and have also refused to install due to clearance issues, corgi recommends in the absence of manufacturers instructions the minimum clearance should be 600mm.customers not to happy, but better safe than sued.

ParticipantRe: Proline DWI 5212P
hi mike iv,e been monitoring this thread with your ongoing problems however correct me if I’m wrong but you said you brought this model purely because it was the only one that would fit,so how are you going to replace with another model which I’m assuming will not fit, remember if you choose another and try to modify it to fit you will invalidate the warranty, just a thought eh?

ParticipantRe: NEW NAME FOR CORGI FROM APRIL 09
no ,what i am saying is corgi is recognised by all,and will be offering their services for installers but not as a governing body, but if we wish to continue using corgi logos, signage and so on then this will not be free.

ParticipantRe: NEW NAME FOR CORGI FROM APRIL 09
as corgi is recognised by all. come april when the switchover takes place im sure the public will still be demanding a corgi gas engineer to carry out work,i know corgi will still be branding themselves for which we will have to pay the privilege, while still having to register with capita to carry out gas work, seems we will be paying twice for the same thing, just gets better eh?

ParticipantRe: COMET vs CURRYS
big boys are not always the best, even though they may think so.personal service comes first.and as for picking on the sole trader, shame on the so called giants.we all know a customer is for life not just for Christmas.

ParticipantRe: gas hob
squadman you are correct,my pride has definitely been dented, and as you rightly say it would not really be cost effective to pursue this matter,i will just take it on the chin and plod on without worrying, yes you are right corgi will investigate and hopefully i will be vindicated, thanks for your advice

ParticipantRe: gas hob
squadman i agree with you completely, however as i said my ex employer has taken this opportunity to make me look totally incompetent, installation of both appliances were carried out to the book and both registered with corgi, in return certs were issued for the installs to the customer,i would just like some advice as to what i could do to clear my name, this is the first complaint i have had in twelve years of working alongside this company,i know nobody is perfect but the mistakes that were alleged were an issue of gross negligence,i do not operate in this way,and am not a cowboy.
